Axfood has a central purchasing organisation with a sizeable purchasing base. Clear ethical rules govern the way we act within the group (see link to the right). To minimise the risk of corruption, Axfood aims to rotate its category managers every three years.
What is a bribe?
A personal gift or benefit from a supplier may, if accepted, lead to the recipient committing a criminal act of accepting a bribe. The person giving the gift or benefit may also be guilty of the crime of bribery and/or improper marketing. Where there is a risk that the recipient of the gift may, in one way or another, favour the person who gave the gift, then the crime of accepting a bribe has been committed. The law does not require that the giver actually is favoured. It is enough for the risk to exist.
